A report says global warming puts Florida’s economy at risk.

The report from Risky Business urges Floridians to be prepared for rising sea levels and more severe weather events.

Florida Reinsurance Association of America’s President Frank Nutter says the report raises concerns for his industry.

“It makes it a challenge for the state, for private insurance companies and for federal government through the flood insurance program to provide insurance coverage for people at affordable rates in light of potential losses that could occur,” Nutter says.

The study says Florida’s low altitude means cities along its coast are especially at risk.
