Free Tallahassee Legal Clinic To Address Landlord-Tenant Issues

In Tallahassee, complaints about landlords and tenants are not uncommon. A free legal clinic Thursday evening is set up to help people decide whether to resolve those issues through the courts.

Your landlord unfairly keeps your deposit. Or your tenant isn’t keeping up her end of the lease. Judge Ronald Flury and several lawyers will address these issues—and general small claims questions—at the workshop.

Legal Services of North Florida Development Director John Fenno says there’s no shortage of landlord-tenant issues in this college town.

"It’s open to the public; there’s no registration. We recommend that folks get there early so they can get a good seat. The last two sessions that we’ve had this year have been fairly full," he says.

The clinic starts at 6 p.m. Thursday. It’s in the Leon County Courthouse Annex on Thomasville Road next to the midtown ABC Liquors.

And for those who can’t make it in person, Fenno says they can always call the legal services hotline at 850-385-0029.
