Florida A&M University says it’s placed a developmental school employee on administrative leave after they were accused of inappropriate contact with high schoolers.
University officials would not comment beyond what was stated in a letter issued to parents earlier this week. The school says a FAMU DRS employee is on leave and has been banned from the property but is still employed. However, University spokeswoman Kathy Times did not say how many students may have been impacted.
“Once the investigation is complete we will give you an update.”
Times did not say when that would happen.
The allegations against the employee were first raised November 3rd. The Florida Department of Children and Families has been notified and FAMU law enforcement is investigating. No arrests have been made and the name of the employee has not been released.
FAMU DRS has nearly 600 students enrolled from kindergarten through 12th grade.
