Tallahassee rock music fans are doubly mournful today. Two much-loved musicians with Capital City connections are dead.
Scott Campbell had just released a new CD this past October and dropped by WFSU to talk about it and the way his music just seemed to appear without much intervention on his part.
“Songs come," he explained in the course of that conversation. "And I just don’t put a lot of planning into it and a lot of times they’ll come as a piece, like I’ll write a song and in a few hours or a few minutes or within a day and that’s the way that song is I just can’t help it; that’s that song.”
Last week, Campbell entered a local hospice after being diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer. That’s where he died early Wednesday morning. He was 58.
