Candidates for County and Circuit judge recently held a panel discussion hosted by the Tallahassee Bar Association. Six candidates gave their pitch to a packed room of voters.

First up were candidates in the Leon County Seat 3 race. Each gave a bit of background about their careers.

Cyndee Brown:

"I opened my own practice in 2007. My areas of practice were criminal prosecution, defense, felony, juvenile, misdemeanor, traffic, family law, including dependency."

Monique Richardson:

"I’m qualified for this position because I’ve practiced civil and criminal law during my 18 years as a lawyer."

Suzanne Van Wyk:

"I’ve spent six years helping Florida residents resolve their problems with our state agencies."

Candidates fielded questions about ethical issues they’ve faced, pro bono cases and jury trials that impacted them the most.

Next up, the race for Second Circuit judge.

Lisa Barclay Fountain:

"I have been a civil litigator for over 25 years. And during that time I’ve had a very diverse practice."

David Frank:

"I’ve done personal injury, civil rights, consumer protection. I’ve done constitutional law, and some business and regulatory matters."

Christine Thurman:

"My practice has primarily been in family law: Adoption, domestic violence, civil litigation."

Candidates also took questions from the audience.
