Daily News Digest 4/19/2012:

The Governor is planning to announce the members of the Task Force on Citizen Safety and Protection—a group he created in the wake of the shooting death of a black teen in Sanford Florida.  Meanwhile, the judge slated to try the case has stepped aside  due to a conflict of interest.

A private group of healthcare providers has announced it’s got a partner to sign on to its effort to create an electronic medical record database for Florida. The catch: the group is competing with the state—which has also launched a separate system to do the same thing.

And don’t forget to tune in tonight to “It’s About Florida” where we talk with the Agency for Person’s with Disabilities’ Director Mike Hansen. We discuss APD’s struggle to get its budget under control, and how it’s dealing with trying to provide services to people who need them, when there’s not enough money to go around.
