The City of Tallahassee says power restoration efforts will continue through the night and into tomorrow. The weekend weather system that hit Tallahassee hard downed numerous electrical sub-stations, power lines and trees.

Tallahassee continues cleaning up from damaging weekend storms that brought powerful micro-bursts and strong winds into Florida and South Georgia. The National Weather Service has confirmed a tornado strike in Dougherty County, GA which includes Albany. It continues to do post-storm reports to confirm other possible touch downs.

In Tallahassee fallen trees have damaged dozens of homes—some which were still in the process of repair from Hurricane Hermine. The City of Tallahassee says it’s working to restore large power outages in the neighborhoods of Lakeshore, Betton and Centerville, Midtown, Brewster Estates, Fleishman Road and Indianhead Acres.

At least 20 people died from storm-related impacts, 15 were from South Georgia and one from Lake City.
