Capital Report: 07-10-2015

A special legislative session will be in the works again after Thursday’s congressional map redistricting decision by the Florida Supreme Court. As Caitie Switalski reports, the resulting outcomes of changing the gerrymandered maps for the second time – could affect Florida’s current congressional districts in a big way.

While South Carolina lowers the flag that’s flown on its Capital grounds for decades, Regan McCarthy reports communities across Florida are having their own conversations about what to do with their flags.

Florida is once again suing the federal environmental protection agency over water policies. In the latest case, as we hear from Lynn Hatter, Florida is joining with other states to challenge a new rule that outlines what water bodies the EPA can regulate.

Last week Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi announced a settlement between BP and the five Gulf States impacted by the Deep Water Horizon Spill.  Nick Evans took a trip to Santa Rosa and Escambia Counties, to see what that means for residents in the area hit hardest by the spill.
