A controversial pension reform bill that just passed the House is now in the Florida Senate’s hands. Sascha Cordner reports.

Capital Report reporters Sarah Mueller, Nick Evans and Jim Ash review some of the week’s top legislative stories and how the need to come to an agreement on the state budget over the next few weeks is becoming ever more critical.

Florida lawmakers are at odds over how much playtime to give students. It’s a parent-backed push to provide recess to more public school students. Right now, districts make that decision on a school-by-school basis, and some kids get it, others don’t. The latest: The Senate wants at least 20 minutes a day of recess, but the House would let PE substitute for some of that time, a possible deal-breaker for advocates who say the two should be separate. But as Rowan Moore Gerety from member station WLRN in Miami reports, even in places where recess is mandatory, students still don’t get it.

Millions of children take part in Easter Egg hunts every year. But to find those eggs, you have to see them.  Jill Roberts with member station WQCS in Fort Pierce found one event in that town for visually impaired children.
