Prison reform is slated to be a big issue this upcoming legislative session, and a re-do of prison health care contracts will be part of the reform efforts. Sascha Cordner reports the new Florida Department of Corrections Secretary says she’s making progress on the issue—something lawmakers are keeping an eye on.

While the well-suited folks in the Florida Capitol sift through the eye-glazing minutia of documentary stamp taxes and Amendment One, a retired school bus driver sits a few miles away in his new manufactured home.  As Jim Ash reports, the consensus lawmakers reach will determine how many more low-income Floridians might reap the benefits of affordable housing.

As the legality of subsidies for use in the Affordable Care Act comes under debate, the issue of Medicaid expansion makes another comeback in the Florida legislature. Matthew Seeger reports on how both issues intertwine and what it means for millions of uninsured Floridians.
