The city wants to recognize unique neighborhoods in our community. Now the question is which neighborhood will reign supreme?

Each year, The Council of Neighborhood Associations, Leon County and the city of Tallahassee team up to honor neighborhoods and neighbors in the area.

City of Tallahassee official Ashley Edwards says the city seeks innovative ideas when choosing a winner.

“The neighbors and neighborhoods that are recognized, those projects are talked about, benefits of those projects are demonstrated and it gives other neighborhoods a chance to see what innovative things their community is doing,” says Edwards.

Nomination applications are available online and the deadline to submit is May 5th. Edwards says the Neighborhood of the Year contest promotes growth in the community.

Winners will be announced at the CONA’s 35th Annual Neighborhood Awards Reception in June.
