Kuumba Creations, a local fashion design business, will be hosting “Tallahassee African Fashion Weekend (TAFW) on November 2-4, 2018. Tallahassee African Fashion Weekend is a fashion production committed to featuring African Fashion, Art, and Culture. TAFW is dedicated to the cultural preservation of the African aesthetic and devoted to using our platform to raise cultural awareness and impact the Tallahassee Community and abroad. This is Tallahassee Florida’s first and only African Fashion Weekend. Day 1: The Meet & Greet will kick off what will be an amazing weekend of fashion, art, and culture. The Main Event will feature an electrifying night of fresh patterns, eclectic designs, and bold attitudes in celebration of African culture, entertainment, and apparel. Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Wyndham Garden Tallahassee Capital Cocktail Hour & Red Carpet [5P – 7P] Fashion Show [7P – 9P] Day 3: The Kuumba Pop Up shop is your opportunity to engage with the designers about their collections inspiration and vision; purchase the fresh, eclectic designs straight off the runway, and place customer orders with the designers. Come sip, shop, and network with fashion designers in Tallahassee and surrounding areas. Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Mocha Reign Natural Hair Studio [4P - 6P] The theme is “African Meets the Runway Tallahassee Style,” and attendees will enjoy an artistic entrance, with red-carpet media, cash bar, and giveaways. Self made designers will feature their 2018/2019 collections.
