Tallahassee, FL – Senator Clinton's lead in the Democratic race has slipped eight points in the past month,
according to a survey by Quinnipiac University. And her lead over former New York
Mayor Rudy Giuliani in a hypothetical matchup has disappeared. But Pollster Peter
Brown says Giuliani's 3 point lead is within the poll's margin of error.

Tallahassee, FL – Senators say the House reneged on a pre-session agreement when it passed a
bill giving businesses, landlords and snowbirds a cap similar to Save Our Homes. Senators refused to debate the proposal and went home. Now, Senate President Ken Pruitt says they won't come back until Monday, the
last day of the session. Speaker Marco Rubio responding to Pruitt's announcement, praised House members for their work. And House minority leader Dan Gelber says the added pressure of Monday's deadline could
break the stalemate at the Capitol.

Tallahassee, FL – Hand sanitizing dispensers have been yanked from Leon County classrooms. The dispensers and the anti-bacterial product they contain had been donated by a school district partner last year. The district's Nursing and Health Services Coordinator Lorri Pilkington says the State Department of Health liked the dispensers

"However DOE and the State Fire Marshall's office had reservations because of the alcohol based product which research shows is the most effective in the prevention of spread of illnesses"

Tallahassee, FL – The papers were filed at the Republican Party of Florida headquarters on East Jefferson Street this morning. Bill McCollum, State Attorney General and Giuliani's Florida campaign chair did the honors

"He is the most talented, capable person ever to run for president. He is a Reagan disciple, he's conservative in the sense of supply-side economics and foreign policy in ways that i admire. I just think that he's going to make a terrific president".

Tallahassee, FL – The Quinnipiac poll finds support for two proposals that Governor Crist campaigned. A
hypothetical proposal including doubling homestead exemption, making save our homes
portable and a break for first time homebuyers is within the margin of error of the 60 percent super majority needed to pass. But Pollster Peter Brown warns if property tax reform fails, voters most likely will lay the blame at Crist's feet.

Tallahassee, FL – The immediate future of property tax reform in Florida is uncertain. James Call reports lawmakers have six days to merge different House and Senate plans into a proposal to place on a January ballot.

Tallahassee, FL – It is unclear whether the Florida Legislature will produce a property tax reform package. Lawmakers are working on many fronts to gather the supermajority needed to pass a proposal and a second supermajority to get it on a January ballot. James Call reports, House members are working a plan that cuts taxes more than what the Senate has agreed to do.

Tallahassee, FL – Senate President Ken Pruitt says the Senate may not reconvene during the special session on property taxes. As James Call reports, the Senate will wait to see what the House does this week on property tax relief.

Tallahassee, FL – Now the question is the compromise. In a national firestorm, the U.S. House Republicans held the line just 13 votes shy of the two-thirds needed to override the president's veto of a bill to provide health insurance to ten million American children. And Florida's congressional delegation is right in the thick of it. Congressman Adam Putnam of Bartow, the House's third-ranking Republican, played a key role in sustaining the veto and now says it's time for a bipartisan solution.

The clock was ticking when Angie Bedoya held up a pair of inside-out jeans to five judges, exposing the different sizes of each pocket. She pushed her phone deep into the left pocket — almost down to the knee — as her business partner, Emely Rodriguez, dramatized in American Sign Language, "Look at these big, glorious pockets!"

GoFundMe says it is refunding more than $20 million in donations raised by veteran Brian Kolfage to build a wall along the border between the U.S. and Mexico. The website offered the refunds after Kolfage said the donations would go towards a non-profit he created to build the wall, rather than to the U.S. government, as he originally promised.

Kolfage started the campaign on December 16, as President Trump and Congress hit an impasse over money for the wall that President Trump is seeking.

The Consumer Electronics Show, or CES, just wrapped up this week in Las Vegas. It featured the usual assortment of virtual reality goggles, smart cars, next generation smartphones. But arguably, the biggest buzz was about a product geared toward women that was conspicuously absent from the showroom floor. And here's where we want to mention that the conversation we're about to have may not be appropriate for younger listeners. For more, we turn now to Emily Dreyfuss, a senior staff writer for Wired.
