Tallahassee, FL – Jessica Kinsey is an 18-year- old pre med major with orange and green roots. She's a third generation Rattler and her pride runs deep- it was inherited from her family. So deep in fact, that the connection is physical. Twenty years ago her mother was a student, and stayed in Diamond Hall. Now, Jessica calls the same dorm home.

Tallahassee, FL – The agency serves about 25,000 people through a Medicaid waiver, with another 15,000 on a waiting list. But now, with a $100-million deficit, APD spokesperson Melanie Etters says that some people will soon lose some services through a legislative effort to reduce the deficit.

The five services that will be eliminated on December 1 are Chore, non-residential support services, home-maker services, massage therapy and IQ testing.

Tallahassee, FL – Crist launched a four-city tour less than 24 hours after the Legislature placed the proposed constitutional amendment on the ballot. He has 90 days to convince voters to go along with the legislature's plan to double the homestead exemption and add portability to the save our homes tax cap. Crist has pushed tax reform as a way to revive Florida's sluggish economy. And he says he expects immediate benefits from the plan because he says, it offers hope to Florida property owners.

Tallahassee, FL – Senator Clinton's lead in the Democratic race has slipped eight points in the past month,
according to a survey by Quinnipiac University. And her lead over former New York
Mayor Rudy Giuliani in a hypothetical matchup has disappeared. But Pollster Peter
Brown says Giuliani's 3 point lead is within the poll's margin of error.

Tallahassee, FL – Senators say the House reneged on a pre-session agreement when it passed a
bill giving businesses, landlords and snowbirds a cap similar to Save Our Homes. Senators refused to debate the proposal and went home. Now, Senate President Ken Pruitt says they won't come back until Monday, the
last day of the session. Speaker Marco Rubio responding to Pruitt's announcement, praised House members for their work. And House minority leader Dan Gelber says the added pressure of Monday's deadline could
break the stalemate at the Capitol.

Tallahassee, FL – Hand sanitizing dispensers have been yanked from Leon County classrooms. The dispensers and the anti-bacterial product they contain had been donated by a school district partner last year. The district's Nursing and Health Services Coordinator Lorri Pilkington says the State Department of Health liked the dispensers

"However DOE and the State Fire Marshall's office had reservations because of the alcohol based product which research shows is the most effective in the prevention of spread of illnesses"

Tallahassee, FL – The papers were filed at the Republican Party of Florida headquarters on East Jefferson Street this morning. Bill McCollum, State Attorney General and Giuliani's Florida campaign chair did the honors

"He is the most talented, capable person ever to run for president. He is a Reagan disciple, he's conservative in the sense of supply-side economics and foreign policy in ways that i admire. I just think that he's going to make a terrific president".

Tallahassee, FL – The Quinnipiac poll finds support for two proposals that Governor Crist campaigned. A
hypothetical proposal including doubling homestead exemption, making save our homes
portable and a break for first time homebuyers is within the margin of error of the 60 percent super majority needed to pass. But Pollster Peter Brown warns if property tax reform fails, voters most likely will lay the blame at Crist's feet.

When it comes to the extinction of modern animal species, humans usually end up taking the rap.

The traditional view of the disappearance of the Tasmanian tiger is no different. It follows a well-worn indictment: After the first humans began arriving in Australia (by recent estimates) some 18,000 years ago, the dog-like predatory marsupial began to disappear.
